Beale Street Historic District
The most famous street in Memphis, Beale Street is where W.C. Handy wrote his very first blues song. The sound of the blues still fills the street and you might just see the famous Beale Street flippers, who perform back flips, one after the other. Check out the walk of fame to see some of Memphis' greatest musicians honored.
Cooper-Young District
A revitalized Midtown Memphis district at Cooper St. and Young St. which showcases unique boutiques, chic restaurants, several galleries, and antique shops. Karaoke fan? Cafe Ole features karaoke every Wednesday night during the summer.
Collierville Town Square
Located in Downtown Collierville, the historic Collieville Town Square is the only town square in Shelby County. It is surrounded by boutiques, fine dining, and a park perfect for picnics. Every May is Fair on the Square, a great family activity. During holidays it is decorated beautifully and offers a great setting for family photos.
Collierville water park
Located in W.C. Johnson Park, this area is made up of giant sprinklers in fun and colorful designs and is a huge hit among Collierville kids - absolutely free.
Levitt Shell
An outdoor amphitheater that several musical legends once played at including Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis Presely. Levitt Shell hosts many free outdoor concerts.
Memphis Pink Palace Museum
The Pink Palace is located on Central Ave houses many interesting exhibits. Admission is free on Tuesdays from 1-5.
Memphis Zoo
Located at 2000 Galloway, The Memphis Zoo is rated one of the best zoos in the entire country! For Tennessee residents, the Memphis Zoo offers free admission on Tuesdays after 2PM.
Peabody Hotel
Watch the Peabody ducks march through the lobby and into the fountain at 11AM and then back up to their home on the rooftop at 5pm. Take the elevator up to the rooftop for a breathtaking view of Memphis and see where the ducks live.
Shelby Farms Park
Shelby Farms is over 4,500 acres and has something for everyone. Attractions include laser tag, paintball, nature trails, ponds, horseback riding, and much, much more. Find out what all there is to choose from here : http://www.shelbyfarmspark.org/
